Thoughts? Who has the better side?
And with that title, we have the first of what will be a plethora of Seinfeld references on this site. If you are reading this, then you would be one of the six people that know about this site. Therefore, you understand the Seinfeld reference. Hopefully, that number will increase over time (can we say ten people by summer).
However, maybe there is someone out there who was searching for a gambling website and ran across this site…and was sorely disappointed. But hey, stay and take a look while I attempt to inform you what this site hopes to become.
Friendlywagers.com is almost two years in the making (due to pure laziness and nothing else). A bunch of degenerates were sitting around during the summer while discussing “friendly bets”. You know, a bet you make with your friend that is usually sports, sex, or pop culture related. This bet can be as simple as, “I will bet you five dollars Villanova beats UCLA today” (as I write this, Nova is up 2o) or as complex as “I bet you a thousand dollars that five years from now Philadelphia will have another 3 championships.”
Friendlywagers.com is here to document these bets to keep track so they do not fall by the wayside. Most people forget about these wagers over time, but wouldn’t you like that twenty that your friend owes you from college when he said he could eat 40 chicken nuggets in an hour? Yeah, me too. Okay, you probably will not see that money, but this is a great way to look back and see the stupid things you have done (and wagered on) in your life. The site will also be able to send e-mails to document when a bet has expired, who has won the bet, etc.
How will the site do this? I have no idea, I just learned how to make this post about ten minutes ago. However, this site will eventually be able to do everything I just said. Until that time, you are stuck with reading my ravings until we can get this going. You can at least enjoy that and since most of you know me, you can make fun of me even more.
I would be remiss for not giving credit for getting this off the ground. The creator of www.averysloppyseconds.com was instrumental in helping me figure out the world of starting a website. It is a hockey website…go check it out, if only for the story about Ovechkin and his farts.
With that said, welcome to Friendlywagers.com.
